Tokyo Disneyland – The Classic Magic

Tokyo Disneyland opened in 1983 as the first Disney park outside the US. From the moment you pass under the iconic entrance, you'll feel like you've stepped into a storybook. This is where you'll find most of Disney's signature rides – Peter Pan, Big Thunder Mountain, the Haunted Mansion – all the classics are here.

Our must-see: The Beauty and the Beast ride was absolutely fantastic – the technology and storytelling transport you right into the enchanted castle. It's a dream come true for every Disney fan!

What makes it different? The Japanese attention to detail. Spotless walkways, cast members with genuine warmth, entertaining queues, and food presented with five-star care.

Tokyo DisneySea – A World Like No Other

If Disneyland is the classic fairy tale, Tokyo DisneySea is the dream you never knew you had. And here's something special – Tokyo DisneySea is the only DisneySea park in the entire world. You won't find this ocean-themed wonderland anywhere else on the planet. Built around a mythical volcano called Mount Prometheus, the park features seven "ports" inspired by maritime legends. The detail is breathtaking: Mediterranean Harbor feels like an Italian village, Mermaid Lagoon takes you under the sea, and Arabian Coast feels like a story from One Thousand and One Nights.

What we love most? It feels like a destination for adults too – sophisticated atmosphere, thrilling rides, and evening shows that are pure cinematic beauty.

And of course, the parade walk at DisneySea is not to be missed – it goes without saying! The music, the floats, the energy. It's pure magic that will leave you smiling all day.

Frozen at DisneySea

• We loved Frozen at DisneySea – the Fantasy Springs area brings Arendelle to life with stunning detail
• Go up to the castle for breathtaking views of DisneySea and the boats below – one of the best photo spots in the park!

Our Must-See: Fortress Explorations

• A do-not-miss interactive fort with hands-on exhibits, hidden passageways, and spectacular harbor views
• Give yourself 30-60 minutes to explore

American Waterfront – Stunning After Dark

• Beautifully blends New York's cityscape with a New England coastal town
• Especially stunning after dark when the streets and waterfront are illuminated

Fantasy Springs – Arrive Early

• Brings Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan to life
• Explore early morning before crowds for the best lighting and photo opportunities

Mediterranean Harbor – Pirate Ships

• Pirate ships docked around Fortress Explorations add immersive atmosphere (not a ride)
• For Pirates of the Caribbean, head to Tokyo Disneyland

The Food – A Taste of the Magic

We love the food at Tokyo Disney Resort! From refreshing drinks and crispy fries to comforting noodle bowls and beyond burgers – there's something delicious for every craving. Every meal feels like part of the magic!

Here are our top food recommendations:

• Hokusai Restaurant at Tokyo Disneyland – we absolutely love their Japanese Set Menu! It's a wonderful way to enjoy authentic Japanese flavors while taking a break from all the excitement.
• The Snuggly Duckling at DisneySea – we loved their Plant-Based Burger Set and the charming Tangled-themed atmosphere!
• Sherwood Garden Restaurant at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel – we highly recommend the lunch buffet! It's an easy walk from the main entrance, and the food is absolutely wonderful. A perfect way to recharge before heading back into the magic.

Getting there and where to stay

Getting there on your own: Take the JR Keiyo Line to Maihama Station from Tokyo Station (about 15 minutes), then hop on the Disney Resort Line monorail to easily connect between the parks, hotels, and shopping areas.

Where to stay: Official Disney hotels offer early entry and monorail access, while partner hotels are more budget-friendly and still convenient.

Quick Tips – First-Time Visitor Gold!

These tips are like gold for anyone visiting for the first time – we learned them the hard way so you don't have to!

• Download the Tokyo Disney Resort App – This is everything you need! It shows you where to eat, where to go, wait times, and allows you to book rides and shows.
• Buy tickets in advance – They sell out, especially on weekends and holidays.
• Arrive at least one hour before the park opens – This gives you time to get through security and be ready when the gates open.
• Add your credit card to the app – Once you scan your entry tickets, add a credit card to the application. This allows you to make Premier Access purchases for rides you don't want to miss.
• Book restaurant reservations early – Use the app to secure dining reservations as soon as you arrive at the park.
• Use Disney Mobile Order – Make seating and meal order pick-up times through the app. Most cafes fill up quickly around meal times, so this saves you from long queues!
• Paid lockers are available – Throughout the parks. Perfect for storing extra layers, souvenirs, or anything you don't want to carry all day.
• Summer essentials – If you're visiting during summer, bring a portable fan, extra T-shirt, cap, wipes, and hanging keychain water bottles to stay cool and comfortable! Summer in Tokyo can be hot and humid – you'll thank yourself later.
• Give yourself two days – One day is not enough to experience both parks properly.
• Visit on weekdays – Significantly less crowded than weekends.
• Cash vs. card – Most places accept cards, but some food stalls prefer cash – so it's good to have some yen handy.
